Course overview:
The major challenge facing water utilities and municipalities is how to handle Non-Revenue Water. These course will provide you with a broad range of relevant information to assist you in understanding the subject.
Non-Revenue Water (NRW) is the volume of water supplied into the network but is lost or unaccounted for before getting to the consumers resulting in loss of revenue for water utilities. Reducing these water losses is critical for efficient resource utilization, efficient utility management, enhanced consumer satisfaction, and consideration of capital-intensive projects meant to augment water supply capacity. The costs of improved service delivery are much lower when non-revenue water reduction is prioritised.
This training will help participant to identify cause of NRW in order to come up with practical management systems to mitigate against heavy financial and social loses that are currently being experienced
Course Objectives:
- To increase the skills and capacity of the water sector in particular local government in tackling Non-Revenue Water (NRW).
- To empower all identified beneficiaries with relevant skills and knowledge to manage NRW
- To develop the technical skills and knowledge on NRW in order to meet the demand of the daily routine work in municipalities.
- Identify those water flows that are classified as production flows
- Recognize the critical importance of accurate production flow data to water accountability
- Distinguish the primary types of production flowmeters used in drinking water supplies
- Recall the basic ways to test production flowmeter performance and calculate the accuracy rating from typical testing data
- Recognize that production flowmeters are important assets that must be maintained, repaired, and replaced on a regular basis as part of good asset management
- Tabulate and Analyze production flowmeter data to observe flow trends and identify data errors and data gaps
- Identify problem areas and understand the causes of Non-Revenue Water.
- To undertake performance analysis in the management of the water supply System.
- To leverage on what water utilities can do to minimise Non-Revenue Water.
- To build knowledge and skills to better understand advanced technologies in Non-Revenue Water management.

IN HOUSE AND ONLINE TRAINING

While both In-House and Online training can present with cost-effectiveness and time-efficacy, there are some very specific differences between in-house courses and those based online.
The demand for additional courses by individuals or groups of people is increasing. Still, it depends entirely on the preferences of a person what type of training he or she wants to receive. Online courses and in-house training carry some similarities but they are considered to exhibit some very pivotal differences too. Despite that, both types of learning can be really beneficial for attendees.
